From a functional perspective Capital Markets provide a series of important functions within a domestic and global economy.  Those functions, in no particular order, revolve around the capital formation process, liquidity and risk management.

It is the interaction of  people, institutions with their respective goals that form a functioning and mostly efficient marketplace.
